PsiOn - V2.0 - By Paul Hargreaves ----------------------------------- Changes from V2.1 (20th August 1997) to V2.2 (19th December 1997) ----------------------------------------------------------------- Completely new pause mode. Now takes it's defaults from parameters rather than trying to work it out for you. It also allows you to to pause for several days at a time. Agenda control mode can now start your chosen agenda if it isn't running. Various minor dialog improvements. Psion-1 hotkey now works on the Siena. Arm Now hotkey dims the screen when Agenda is busy. Bug fixed going from Switched Off Time mode to Pause mode shouldn't change the default Switched Off Time. Changes from V2.0 (9th August 1997) to V2.1 (20th August 1997) -------------------------------------------------------------- Corrected dialogs for Siena size screens. Backlight settings merged into one question rather than 3. Agenda control improved to only look at one Agenda file. Changes from V1.5 (9th May 1997) to V2.0 (9th August 1997) ---------------------------------------------------------- Added old method of Agenda Control. Added a new hotkey to bring PsiOn to the front. Fix Agenda dims screen when waiting for AGENDA to finish. Changed the Icon to one supplied by Steve Litchfield. Work-over of the Pause mode. It now can be used to wait for a number of hours as well as a specific hour. Shareware registration system added. The program isn't crippled, just a nag when pressing the Menu key. Previous versions remain Free. New menu system added. You can now change all the settings while PsiOn is running. Removed the hourly charm, as it wasn't very useful. Source code REMOVED. As PsiOn is shareware, it doesn't make sense to give away the source. Upgrade program added that upgrades as many of the settings as possible from all previous versions. Backlight control added. You can have it on between certain times, or "Sticky" mode where it remembers if it was on when the machine switches off, and sets it the same when turned back on. All questions in PsiOn should be much easier to understand rather than the cryptic one liners. The hotkey 1 can be chosen. This allows Psion-Shift-1 to be used as the Arm Immediately key. New mode "Password Off/On" added. You can set PsiOn to turn the password off after you login in the evening and then turn back on in the morning. Changes from V1.4.3 (31st March 1997) to V1.5 (9th May 1997) ------------------------------------------------------------ Added remote link control. PsiOn can now stop LINK and NFSC when arming the password. Renamed the PsiOn task and data file to Psi_On for clarity. If your examining the task list, look for the new name. Paused time is now configurable. When you press the P key, you'll be prompted for a new hour to wait for. System wide arm key is now available. You can just press the key no matter which screen you are in, and the password will be re-armed. Added an hourly charm. (beep) Added Fix Agenda technology. PsiOn will capture the OFF key, and will stop the machine switching off for a few seconds to give Agenda and Time chance to set the alarms completely. A new icon has been implemented, thanks to Lee Haywood. Changes from V.1.4.2 (6th March 1997) to V1.4.3 (31st March 1997) ----------------------------------------------------------------- Added back the reduced processor mode and the immediate response that was remove in 1.4.2. It's now been fixed. Added a new quit key Psion-Q for French users. Changes from V1.4 (2nd March 1997) to V1.4.2 (6th March 1997) ------------------------------------------------------------- Undo changes in V1.4 to do with processor usage and speed of events as they were forcing the machine to be left on in a cycle of on and off events forever. Sorry :( I will add them back in when I can figure out /exactly/ what was causing the problem. Changes from V1.3.3 (11th February 1997) to V1.4 (2nd March 1997) ----------------------------------------------------------------- Improved the speed of keyboard events so that they get handled straight away rather than after 2.5 seconds. Reduced processor usage from once every 2.5 seconds to just once every 60 seconds. Allow sound to be re-enabled when the password is being turned on. Added a new hotkey - Time. This will allow you to change your Switched Off time temporarily. Pressing any other key when activated will turn it off just like Pause mode. Allow all hotkeys to be pressed without the Psion key as well as with. Withdrew support for 1.2 and below settings files, as so many of the old settings have vanished. Merged back in the extra procedures as they were unneeded and were taking up /valuable/ space. Tidied up the docs. Any better? Added a new Techie.txt file. This shows those of you who like changing programs some useful changes you can make. Changes from V1.3.2 (9th February /97) to V1.3.3 (11th February/1997) -------------------------------------------------------------- Changed text label for Pause mode to something a little more user friendly. If you used pause mode, the next day the screen would show that pause mode was active in error. If the Pause mode was used after midnight, PsiOn wouldn't rearm the password for a whole day. Changes from V1.3 (4th February 1997) to V1.3.2 (9th February 1997) ------------------------------------------------------------------- Sorted out slight issue where Agenda ignores key presses first thing in the morning. Changes from V1.2 (18th December 1996) to V1.3 (4th February 1997) ------------------------------------------------------------------ I've reduced the screen size and removed all the unneeded displays. PsiOn now only uses 9 / 10k of memory when running, rather than the 19k it used before. Added Agenda control. PsiOn can force an Agenda screen to the front in various different views, depending on settings. Two "hot keys" have been added, allowing you to Pause PsiOn until the next day or to Arm the system password straight away. PsiOn will now notice an "event" soon after it happens. This means that if you press Psion-X, Psion-Escape or Quit from the system screen, that PsiOn will quit quickly. PsiOn will also notice when the machine is turned on, and will update it's timers. Removed the Prompt Option - it's more than been replaced by the Auto option that existed in 1.2. Removed the Beep Option. PsiOn only beeps now when it's quitting. Removed the New Auto-Off time. Since PsiOn will be running all the time, the system setting holds this value. I noticed that I've been spelling Siena wrong :( Removed all special dialogs for the Siena and changed all the S3a / c dialogs so they will fit on a Siena. From now on, when a new version of PsiOn is loaded, your old settings are kept. Note that most of the settings have gone away so it only really gets your System Off time. Psion-Escape will quit PsiOn cleanly rather than being ignored. Changes from V1 (1st November 1996) to V1.2 (18th December 1996) ---------------------------------------------------------------- Due to an overwhelming lack of response from /anybody/, I've still implemented the things I think you want. Let me know if I missed anything :-( PsiOn will now notice automatically when you type in your password and will unlock the password for you. You can set PsiOn to run in the V1 mode too... I've changed the default Switch off time until password is turned on time to 15 minutes. More beep options have been added (when passwords are turned on/off). PsiOn now doesn't reset your PSION's auto off time until it quits. Siena (emulator) compatible.
