CompressDB 1.1 (C) Richard Smedley 1998 http://www.cix.co.uk/~rsmedley/s5/ INTRODUCTION CompressDB is a simple little program for the Psion S5, which allows you to manually compress EPOC32 database files. The inbuilt database app automatically compresses database files from time to time, but it only performs the compression when there is more than a certain amount of space that can be recovered - which isn't always very convenient, especially if you deliberately /want/ to compress a database in order to recover disk space, or if you are releasing files to the public and want to make them as small as possible before releasing them. Hence, this program was born! INSTALLATION Install the files into the following folders (you may need to select "Show system folder" from the system preferences to do this): COMPRESSDB.OPO -> (any folder) SYSRAM1.OPX -> System\OPX\ The CompressDB icon will appear in the folder where you put the file. Just select the icon to run it. (It doesn't appear on the Extras bar). USING THE PROGRAM Use the CompressDB window to select the database file that you want to compress. The file will be compressed, and a window will then appear telling you how much disk space has been saved by compressing the file.
