RealMaps v5.10

For a new installation or upgrade to v5.10, install normally by double-clicking on RealMaps.SIS from Windows or on the EPOC device.

Read the information below if upgrading from an old version.



**** IMPORTANT !!! ****
RealMaps prior to v5.08

If you are upgrading from a version of RealMaps earlier than 5.08, you MUST do the following before installation :

1. Run your existing RealMaps
2. Zoom Out to the WORLD.MBM map.
3. Exit the program from the menu or Ctrl-E

The MapList format has changed from previous versions.

When you run RealMaps v5.08 for the first time it will convert your existing MapList file to the new format and save your old one as OldMapList (just in case ! - backup this OldMapList file somewhere else in case you want to use the old version again)

NB: If the conversion doesn't work correctly for any reason, you must save the OldMapList file somewhere else before reattempting running the new version.

This seems to be robust on a real EPOC device but causes problems with the WINS emulator. If you wish to use RealMaps on the WINS emulator (OPL SDK) then follow this procedure :-

1. Run your existing version of RealMaps.
2. Load every map (except those supplied with RealMaps) in turn and use the 'Save Info' option if you haven't already.
3. Exit RealMaps and uninstall it from the control panel.
4. Install the new version and run it.
5. 'Open' all of your existing maps so that RealMaps reads the patched information and saves it to your new MapList file.

NB: As before, note that patched maps on the WINS emulator cannot be read by a real EPOC device and vice-versa.
