Essential Disk Utilities is a safety and optimisation package designed specifically for Epoc handhelds. Check and Repair disk problems before it’s too late

CheckDisk provides extensive diagnostic of most disk problems – like lost files and directories – and repairs them on-the-fly. Just click "Start" to have CheckDisk ensure your disks are in good shape. Key areas of the disks are checked automatically without any user interaction.

For each disk problem encountered, a simple explanation is given as well as an advice on whether it should be repaired immediately or not. Your disks are back into life in seconds.

Stop wasting precious disk space

Just format any disk with SmartFormat – instead of using the standard method – and immediately squeeze more files onto it. 

Why? 

The great variety of media on the market makes it impossible to format each media to the best of its use, so a generic "Factory" method is generally used.

SmartFormat allows you to format your disks using an improved method and gives you unique control over the parameters used to format your disks for even greater customisation. Just select the method you wish to use as in the screenshot below.

SmartFormat is especially useful for the new generation of high capacity memory disk (>4MB), where the standard (Psion) formatting method wastes a lot of disk space when the disk is filled with many small to medium size files.

Your disk is already formatted using the standard method. No problem! Just back it up on your PC or Macintosh, reformat it using SmartFormat, then restore its contents from the backup.

View and Edit disks

Find data that’s long been deleted on external disks. Most of the time, the data contained in deleted files is left on external disks for a while. Just type the text you’re looking for and CheckDisk will locate it inside the disk (if the data has not yet been overwritten).
