This is a collection of the software formerly available on Xtep's site. Between early 2004 and the end of 2005 Juan J. Villacorta ('Xtep') wrote some very interesting software for manipulating and editing the OS ROM images for netBooks / mBooks / 5mxPros / netPads. However, he's now switched to the Zaurus Linux platform and is planing to close his site down shortly. Juan has kindly agreed that I host his software here on the Pscience5 site.

| PsiROMx (9KB) | 1.0 |  DescriptionSmall utility that extracts a ROM image from a Psion to a file. Works on Psion Series 5mx and Psion Revo/RevoPlus. Possibly also on NetBook and NetPad, although it has not been tested on those machines. When extracting the ROM from a Psion 5mx, the extracted file can be used as a ROM image file for a Psion 5mxPro. Usage In order to extract the ROM image to a file you only have to press the button 'Save ROM' and select the destination filename. Accordingly the ROM is saved and the progress is shown in the PsiROMx main screen. The button 'Advanc. options' allows to choose the position and size of the ROM, although this information is detected automatically by PsiROMx and it is recommend not to change it. Due to the large file sizes (10 - 16 Mb), it is recommended to save the ROM image to a CompactFlash card. |
