This is a collection of dictionaries for use with Otfried Cheong's 'Dic' dictionary program. A copy of the program itself - together with some initial dictionaries - is also available at the top of the page.
If you have any Dic files that you would like to contribute, please email them to me (preferably compressed) and I'll be glad to add them to the page.

| Dic.zip (843KB) |  Dic is a dictionary handling program. It's supplied here with 7 dictionaries which are: German>Norwegian, English>Norwegian, English>French, English>Flemish, English>Swedish, Norwegian>German, and Norwegian>English (I believe - please let me know if I have some of this incorrect and I'll correct this list). It's believed however that there were originally many more dictionaries available for the program and so if you know of any or have any please email them to me in order that they can be shared with others. Dic was originally written by Otfried Cheong in 1998 and was supplied as freeware as far as I know. v1.06 |
| Japanese.zip (2.1MB) |  This is a set of files, dictionaries, fonts and instructions for adding a couple of Japanese dictionaries (one file for looking up complete words, the other for looking up kanji) to Otfried Cheong's 'Dic' dictionary program. There are also some screenshots of it working on a 5mx. Read the 'Notes.txt' file in the zip file for a description of the installation process written by the contributor - who goes by the pen-name of the "Pensioneer" here at Pscience5! |
